| Aside the ones making me want to kill myself and/or someone else? I've often said Mafia 1 has the best story and particularly ending of games that I've played. If you're absolutely certain you'll never play this game (note that there are also modern remakes available), here's the story: - Spoiler:
Opening scene has the main/player character telling police he wants into witness protection and is willing to tell everything about the mafia family he's worked years for.
This is followed by game long flashback of how he gets involved and everything he does along years. He's a "good" criminal, couple times letting go people he's supposed to kill. Eventually he and his friend/colleague find out the head of family isn't treating them quite fairly, telling lies that may put them in risk and not giving them full shares on everything. Annoyed, they decide to some private business on the side, a bank job without authorization of the family. This is unacceptable, his friend is killed and the family tries to kill him, resulting the great final confrontation of the game. During which player is told that all the people he let live against orders were hunted down and killed anyway, the family knew what he'd done.
He finishes his deal with police, coming from this big shootout. And then we have an epilogue scene. Decades later he's watering his lawn on some suburb. A car stops and couple trenchcoats step out. And they give him regards from the family... with sawed-off shotgun.
