“Santa is fake, Jesus is real"

A Texas man is facing scrutiny after he dressed as the Grinch and held up a sign that read “Santa is fake, Jesus is real" outside a local elementary school.

Earlier this week, David Grisham dressed up as the Dr. Seuss character and held up the poster while standing in front of Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in Amarillo, Texas.

In a video posted on YouTube, Grisham is approached by an adult male outside the school while in costume. “You shouldn’t lie to children,” he can be heard saying, before the man grabs and rips his sign, then throws it to the ground.

Technically speaking... St. Nicholas is as much a historical person as Jesus. Or in fact, there's more sources and reliable information about him.
Of course that barely relates to Santa Claus as we think of him, but then again the Christian Jesus is pretty far from the person who (probably) existed couple thousand years ago.

I don't see a problem with the actual sign. However, I see a problem with the method and timing of the message. There is a problem with the Texas man that thinks his message is going to make a difference other than create problems. There is something wrong with that man.

Given the religious, cultural, and historical significance of Christianity, Jesus Christ has been the subject of countless texts, theological writings, historical accounts, and scholarly research. He has been the most researched historical figure of all time. Way more than Santa or St Nick. Some countries don't even know who Santa or celebrate Christmas which includes a Santa.

What’s the bigger lie, someone that flies around the world in a reindeer sled or someone that walks on water?

For one, I'm not sure if anyone has been martyred for Santa's story and his flying reindeer. However, it has been documented that the men who saw Jesus walk on water were killed gruesome deaths for the belief that Jesus was real, and he was who he said he was. According to some studies, there have been over 70 million killed in their belief that Jesus Christ is real in just the last two millennia. As for me, I choose Santa as the lie.
