Statement: All parents have the right to make health care decisions for their minor children.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement and why?

Not absolutely. Some decisions may actively or passively endanger the child's life; that can't be acceptable.

On minor non life threatening matters I agree.
On serious health (Life Threatening)matters the Health Authorities should get the law to overturn Parents decisions.

The parent should have the primary role of deciding for the child with the physicians guidance but if said parent is incapable or unwilling to make a decision that benefits the child than it's only ethical that the needs of the child are put before the wants of the parent.

What about in cases where the parent's are financially unable to pay for expensive procedures and long term care?

If the state takes over the management of the case from the parents, then the state should foot the bill. Which means the taxpayers are going to pay for it.
