Job hunting

For those old enough to remember, what was job hunting like before the Internet?

Send letters to a load of companies, look in the Newspaper if there was a job or recruitment agency hiring people, going to the employment agency and watch which jobs they had on their window, go inside and ask for a job and you could go work in the catering or clean or do assembly line work. Doesn't that still exist?
