The name brand product is way over priced.
I buy the store brand of the same thing, especially the Aldi's brand, and it is in our pantry as emergency supplies, and I do rotate them through every so often. We'll use one or more of the canned goods in our daily cooking, and take the others down to the church to the food pantry.
The best way to eat that sort of meat is to slice it thin, rinse it in running tapwater to rid it of some of the surface salt, then fry it over medium heat in butter until it is slightly browned, and make a fried egg sandwich out of it with some cheese, and a bit of mayo on the toast.
