Some artists seem to create with a direction/theme in mind for the music that holds my attention more and is quite relaxing.

Other artists, however, create these 16 minute epics of the same loop over and over. And I really wonder why

Boring and usually very long. I'm a big fan of slow songs but ambient is too slow for my taste.
