I don't like it that the media calls them migrants. They are illegal aliens. They have broken the law, and they are not asylum seekers. There are very few in the large group that are actually asylum seekers. They are not being politically or religiously persecuted.
The U.S. has implemented some policies and agreements aimed at managing asylum claims and deterring irregular migration, such as the Migrant Protection Protocols (also known as the "Remain in Mexico" policy) and Safe Third Country Agreements with some countries. These agreements and policies may affect how asylum claims are processed and whether asylum seekers can apply in the U.S. depending on their previous travel routes.
We ought to manage illegal entry into our country by the policies in place.
