What are news events that you remember were most profoundly all over TV and papers?



1. Sinking of MS Estonia
2. Boxing Day tsunami (due to a holiday location there were more Finnish casualties than in any disaster since WWII)
3. Finland wins first ice hockey world championship 1995
4. 9/11
5. Finland wins Eurovision Song Contest 2006

Two events that could be on the list, but I'm not relying on my memory, having been so young: Chernobyl and assassination of Swedish prime minister Palme (the Nordic equivalent of JFK)

1. The landing on the moon.
2. President Kennedy shot.
3. Berlin Wall comes down.
4. Local flooding, a levee basically failed and a whole neighborhood, just blocks from my home went under water in minutes. About 40+ homes.
