A California mom has set the internet on fire after declaring she deliberately refuses to return her shopping cart. “I’m not returning my shopping cart and you can judge me all you want,” she says. Her name is Dr. Leslie Dobson, a psychologist from Long Beach. Social media is in an uproar with people sounding off in both agreement and disagreement with the mom. At a shopping center in New Jersey, Inside Edition’s Ann Mercogliano found plenty of shoppers abandoning their carts.

Of course, and if there is rogue cart within my reach, I will also return it along with mine. She can park near a cart-corral and wouldn't need to take it far, any more than pushing it out of her way. I have seen those carts, especially to heavy metal ones flying across a parking lot and smash into the side of vehicles.

I agree that the woman should park right next to the corral. There are usually plenty around and if it's a busy store, go earlier in the morning when there are less cars around so she can be assured of getting a spot near a corral.
I think the woman is using her children as an excuse. There is a better solution for her, she just doesn't want to do it.

Yes but I have left it there a few times in the past when I had loaded my bike with bags. If you leave the bags on your bike they can steal them and the alternative is carry these heavy things. I now put my bike elsewhere if I use a chart, which is very rare anyway. I always take a basket.
