I went through periods of buying and packing my own lunch. At one job I had to go out to eat, that became a chore to fight traffic, find somewhere good to eat and also the price. At another job there was a full cafeteria in the building with low prices for the employees. So, I would just eat the food, it was decent if the chef got to know you and would fix stuff special for you. Plus, since I started work at 6 AM it was a pain to pack something to eat at 4:30 AM.
