Your old school friends

How many of your old school friends do you still talk with?

One. She works in the same building and we sometimes have lunch together. I know her from highschool. Another one I'm just Facebook friends with, like the one photo she puts there once a year. Last time I saw her was when the other one married about 15 years ago. I have had a reunion from primary school. That was fun. But also only Facebook friends with one.

Just 1, haven't seen him since 1960 but we are friends on Facebook and keep each other up to speed.

Back in high school, I had my moment in the spotlight—popular enough that everyone knew my name, but never quite close enough to exchange secrets or steal glances across the cafeteria. Now, I'm part of my high school's Facebook group, where the invites to outings and reunions flow like punch at prom. But here's the twist: I've never RSVP'd, never shown up, and haven't even replied with a polite “maybe.” Class reunions? Haven't attended a single one. These days, I don't keep in touch with anyone from those halls. It’s like I was always there, but never really left a trace.

Highschool was horrible. Nobody even organized a reunion. But primary school that was so cool. Only had one a few years ago. Others said it too. All this time we hadn't seen each other and it was like you were 12 again, the last time I saw them. It was a great class. Nobody got bullied. Well except by the teachers. A really shy girl who never dared say a word, female teacher yelled at her in class in front of everyone to open her mouth and at the reunion one guy said that a male teacher was totally surprised with his good grade and had said: That's nothing for you. You're so stupid. Unbelievable that that was possible in the 70s. He had dyslexia and said he had always felt lesser than everyone else and at home it wasn't great. Awwww all these girls, well girls, 50 y o girls, trying to cheer him up. I said: hey we were fighting over you! We both liked you. You're in my diary. My parents had made movies with a real old thing as the only ones. That was awesome. Everyone was on it. It was made with a day out. They all got a copy. Oh lol and I can't drive and my brother picked me up. He normally never does. LOOOL he's 8 years older. All my friends were jealous that I had an older brother when they had to share the attention with a younger brother and had a crush on him, especially my then best friend, who liked a lot of guys. She was talking with one guy from class. A bit flirty. Then I said I gotta go. Henk pics me up. Henk pics you up? He's here? No way! LOL He's quite shy and parked some blocks away but he got all these girls on his neck. Hahaha and that guy was so flabbergasted and said: Yeah sure. Now I don't matter anymore.
