Non-life threatening illness

What was the worst non-life threatening illness you've ever had?

Poison ivy.

No, really. I had helped clear out a hedgerow that, as it turned out, was overrun with the stuff, but as it was late in the year, most of the leaves were gone.

I had it EVERYWHERE and spent about two weeks sick from it, on steroids, and every sort of anti-itch lotion / salve / balm / spray / etc on the market.

Two of the guys I was working with it got it as well. And, annoyingly, one of their fathers had worked with us and never even turned red.

Ever since then if I even see a plant with three leaves I get itchy.

Had strep throat that persisted for nearly 3 weeks. A simple sip of water felt like I was gargling broken glass and gravel.
