Dealing with people who are late?

How do you deal with people who tend to be late? Late for events? Late for work? Late for church?

Show up just as late after a while. Just add an hour or so.

Someone told me recently how they deal with an always late friend. They just tell them the event is starting 30 minutes earlier. So for example, if it's at 6:30pm, they'll say let's meet at 6pm! And then they just also show up 30 minutes late. I thought this was the best light hearted take on this issue.
