Protect NATO from Donald Trump? The U.S. Congress just passed that into law
I was always taught it was supposed to be a three-part system of Checks & Balances - between the congress/senate VS supreme court VS the president. If we found out the executive branch (the president) has been thrown out of balance, then the right thing is to restore the balance. We should definitely avoid any "the big main leader gets to override the others" situation.

Probably a good idea in general. Something shouldn't be one person's decision when the consequences carry far beyond his term(s).
