Frozen embryos are people and you can be held legally responsible if you destroy them, according to the Alabama Supreme Court.
Debate Question: Do you agree or disagree frozen embryos are people and why?

A bit. I think any embryo, when you destroy it, goes to heaven and evolves in a person. I would never have done ivf. But an embryo can't feel anything. Who is gonna cry when you lose one natural? You don't even know. Who cares. So in that sense it's not the same as a person.

The pill suppresses the hormones of the pituitary gland (a small gland at the bottom of the brain). This inhibits both egg maturation and ovulation. Because the uterine lining (endometrium) matures less, a possibly fertilized egg cannot implant.
They would have to forbid the pill too then. Force everyone to get the frozen embryo's implanted now because you may not freeze your kid? How are they gonna do that?

To start off, what gets implanted in the uterus during in-vitro conception is not an embryo, it’s a blastocyst. Those are separate stages of development; the blastocyst is the thing that moves from the fallopian tube to the uterus to implant in the uterine wall, after which it grows into an embryo.
Anyway, at that stage, it looks nothing like a child. It’s literally just a ball of cells filled with fluid, so small you can’t even see it. It doesn’t have a brain, spinal cord, or even nerves. It has no capacity for coherent thought or even any ability to detect or perceive anything around it. It wouldn’t make any sense to call that a “baby” or a “person,” because it’s got less human features than most tumors.

Yeah but Biblical it's a person.
Psalm 139:16 KJV Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect
Dutch translation says: Your eyes saw my shapeless beginning.
But what are they gonna do now? Throw her in jail for killing babies? Maybe you shouldn't have left your kids in the freezer then.

I get how you think. If you don't believe it has a spirit it's just like a seed from an apple tree. I also get that they believe it is a person, but come on. They want to force people to carry these embryo's? What if the parents refuse and emigrate? Will they force someone else to carry them?

Life begins at conception. What's fertilized is alive and growing. Those lifeforms don't become dogs or birds or robots, they're part of the human race at a different stage in life. Killing them is killing a human.

Now that the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are ‘children’ under state law, can a couple freeze 100 embryos and claim the $160,000 child tax credit for them? Or get SNAP benefits for a family of 102?
What about this — If the embryo facility was flooded or suffered a destructive fire that caused the loss of all the stored embryos, could the owners of the company be charged with multiple counts of murder, or worse genocide of a race of living eggs?

If you believe it's a kid don't do ivf. They don't think about the consequences. Sue them? How about just don't go there?

A frozen embryo is not dead—it is still alive. Its metabolic rate only suffices to preserve its potential for sustaining life, not for development or growth. This represents a case of self-preservation or suspended animation while life is dormant.

Yes but if the parents believe it's already a child then why would you put some in a freezer and then let them put em in, when there's a big chance that most will die. It's a rarity that they get 6 kids. I thought they often put say 6 in and hope you get 1 kid from it. May be very old info though. I don't know. I remember that from the 80s. So then you treat them like a bunch of apple tree seeds, but when someone drops them you want money and it's a human with the same rights. If they say okay it's a human then they have to forbid people to put more in there or to not use them all and what do they do when a couple changes their mind or they die? Force grandma to carry the grandkids?

I thought their tax laws specifically said that they had to be from birth to a certain age?
