Santa Claus

Many people have strong opinions one way or another about Santa Claus, ranging from parents who insist that it helps children develop strong and active imaginations to parents who remember feeling betrayed and outraged as children upon finding out that they’d been duped.

Question: Is “lying” worth the magic he brings, or is being honest more important?

My eldest son would not have appreciated it if I had lied to him, but the youngest said I spoiled his fun. LOL the eldest said to my parents: Why did you lie to mom? Like they were some evil crooks. All that effort and money they always put into it.

You can be honest with your child without destroying the wonder/mystery of Santa. Tell them the real story of Santa from history. How he was a real person a very long time ago and liked to give gifts to children who were good. That even though he's no longer alive, people liked what he did so much that they wanted to keep doing it to keep his memory alive. So everyone became Santa to help spread happiness through the world. Teach them about giving from the heart.
